We will most likely do an afternoon snack around 2:30pm or so since the kids eat at 11:45am. The snack should be light and easy to eat. No candy, potato chips, dessert foods, or cookies. Some great examples are fresh or dried fruit, crackers, cheese sticks, pretzels, rice cakes, cream cheese, cut up veggies, yogurt, celery, raisons, hard boiled eggs, and low sugar whole grain dry cereal. I really limit the amount of sugar and junk food while we are in class. Thank you for helping me with this. I look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing with your child! Sincerely, Deb Zeh 719-757-1673 dzeh@lewispalmer.org Class Announcements Information from Ms. Zeh's ClassWe are off to a fantastic beginning in third grade. Thank you for getting all the folders and information in so quickly. If you paid the $8.25, your child will be receiving a subscription to "Time for Kids" a magazine we will be using in Social Studies, along with a daily planner. The planner is extremely important for recording homework and communicating to and from school. Be sure to get the money in as I would like to start using planners by Monday, 8/24.
Children will be receiving weekly spelling lists on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week. The list will be a mix of words: some will follow a rule; some will be "regular" and spelled like they sound; a few will be "irregular", and will be sight words. Spelling tests will be on Fridays. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Ms. Zeh dzeh@lewispalmer.org email 719-757-1673 classroom phone |
